The Art between Mural and Knitting!

I think that using new pieces of technology should be seen as a positive learning process. As teachers incorporate/use many different pieces of technology as resources, I think that it will only expand students’ knowledge and incorporate ways that the student themselves learn best. I found this article called, “A New Google Feature to Convert your Pictures into Beautiful Pieces of Art” Check it out here!

As a student who is an English Major and Visual Arts Minor, I found it interesting that technology could be used to help build an art project in class. I really liked this idea as it may show the students process with their pieces more and allow them to explore what technology has to offer in terms of using it as an aid for Art. To see students establish an art piece through technology would also be amazing to see! I think this connects closely to the site I chose to use for this week’s learning project post. It is called, “Mural”. I thought it looked like a strong tool to use whether it is for planning out a paper, art project, or simply using it as a way to study. I think this app can benefit our visual learners including students who thrive off of ensuring that assignments/plans are organized. The only issue I had found was that the template moved around a lot when I was trying to navigate to the home bar to incorporate more things within my Mural. Other than that I really like the site! I always think that talking with your students first is super important when learning about a new resource or app! I saw this Tweet by George Courous and thought it was super relevant. I think that what we use with technology as teachers should address with students how they are feeling with the technology and if it is the right fit for them as there are so many different types of learners out there!

I really liked this resource as it can be used in any classroom or with any subject matter! Please check out my description of Mural below:

My Screencastify wouldn’t go over 5 minutes so there is link 1 and link 2!

Once I got the basis around Mural, I wanted to use it to show you all my progress of my blanket! I am just over halfway done and my fingers are so sore (haha!). Do you know the feeling of staring at something intensely for so long till your eyeballs are dry? Yes, that is me lately…

Check out the final mural for my learning project with this link!

I think that using Screencastify and Mural to even explain how to use the resource was super beneficial. There are so many ways that these pieces of technology can be used and I cannot wait to share this with my students!
